Drop .knxproj or .xml file here

What it is

The drop area on the KNX tab: Drop .knxproj or .xml file here — ETS 4 / 5 / 6 project file or group address XML export. Clicking it opens a file picker.

What to enter

1. Get an ETS project file (.knxproj) or a group address export (.xml). A password-protected ETS project cannot be read; remove the password in ETS or use the XML export.
2. Drop the file on the area, or click the area and pick the file.
3. Read the line under the area, then check the review table (or, on a project that already has an import, the differences).

What it changes

In the app: Nothing yet. A first import shows the review table; a project that already has an import shows only the differences (re-import). The line under the area says how many addresses, rooms, lights and blinds were found, and how many devices name no room of this home.

In the house: Nothing yet. A .knxproj file's list of hardware modules is kept with the project and shown in the Homeowner Guide.

If it goes wrong

Unsupported file means the name does not end in .knxproj or .xml. No devices found means the file has no named group addresses. Parse error gives the reason from the file.
